Explanatory Notes

1) There are four weight categories per gender:

Male (Olympic weight categories):
-58 kg, 58-68 kg, 68-80 kg, +80 kg
Female (Olympic weight categories):
-49 kg, 49-57 kg, 57-67 kg, +67 kg

2) Every team (male as well as female) should consist of a minimum of 3 team members per gender (no exceptions!), with a possibility to present one competitor per gender from another club. During this championship any club is able to represent just one team (male as well as female) or both of them.

3) The encounter begins with both teams with all the protective gear on, forming lines opposite one another. The referee will command the hail. The combat order will be from lower to upper weight categories.

4) The combats will consist of three rounds, 1.5 minutes each, with 30 seconds pauses between the rounds. In the event of a tie at the end of three rounds a fourth tiebreak round will be held to determine the winner. If there is no score in the tiebreak round the winner shall be decided by superiority as determined by the refereeing officials.

5) During the encounter between two teams, the winning team is the one, who wins three or more combats in four weight categories.
If a team does not represent a competitor in one of the weight categories, it counts as a 0-7 victory to the other team.

6) In the case of a draw of combats won, a tiebreak will be performed according to the following criteria:
- score difference in all the combats
- higher positive score
If a draw persists, each team will designate a competitor of any weight to perform a tiebreak combat.

7) Each team will be able to represent a maximum of two competitors per gender/ weight category, just one of them to be chosen for every combat.

8) The championship will consist of heat rounds (single elimination brackets), and a repechage bracket (see attached example), thus all the teams will face each other two or three times during the championship.
