  • Friday 8 April Registration & weigh-in for both competition days in competition hall.
    Weigh-in: 14:00 – 21:00 (local time) for all competitors.
    Registration: 14:00 – 20:00 (local time)
    Changes of weight divisions after the deadline are allowed.
    Cost of changing: 15 euro for each modification.
  • Saturday 9 April Program:
    09.00: Contests cadets, juniors and seniors
    Cadets female: -29, -37, -44, -51, -59
    Cadets male: -33, -41, -49, -57, -65
    Juniors female: -42, -46, -52, -59, -68

3. CONTESTANTS

Condition for participation

Proof of membership by valid National Federation Passport with ETU/WTF membership. All competitors have to prove their age and nationality by presenting their passport or identification card at the weigh-in.
Those who are not recognized as adults by law in their own country must submit a passport or identification card together with a written consent (liability declaration) at registration signed by parents or lawful guardians, accepting the participation and all parts of the official invitation.

Categories

  • Cadets male and female
  • Juniors male and female
  • Seniors male and female

Age

Age categories according to ETU-/WTF-categories

  • Cadets: born in 1997, 1998 and 1999
  • Juniors: born in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997
  • Seniors: born in 1993 and older

Athletes born in 1997 may compete as cadet or as junior.
Juniors born in 1994 or 1995 may compete as a junior or senior.

Graduation

Cadets and Juniors must hold at least 4th Geup.
Seniors must hold at least 2nd Geup.

Liability

All competitors participate at their own risk. The organizers or the VTB shall not accept responsibility for any damages, injuries or losses sustained or incurred.

Practical info

9 competition areas, all with electronic score board system.
Single elimination tournament system.

Equipment

Cadets and Juniors: DAEDO protector scoring system.
Seniors: LaJust protector scoring system.
Head gear, groin/forearm/shin guards and gloves are compulsory and must be brought by the contestant. Mouth piece is compulsory!
Needed LaJust socks have to be bought at the KWON booth.

Protest

Only the official coach is allowed to protest, immediately after the end of the contest. An amount of € 100 (Euro) will have to be paid for each protest.
The decision of the referee chairman is final.

Referees

All referees will be contacted and invited by our Referee Committee.
Conditions for Referees Hotel and Full board accommodation will be provided for international referees from April 8th until April 10th.
International referees will receive an allowance of €75 per competition day.

5. ENTRY

Entries after this deadline will not be accepted

Coach

For every 5 contestants within the same team, one coach is granted free admission, with a maximum of 3 coaches.
Only competitors and coaches have admittance to the competition areas.
Coaching is only allowed in sports wear (no dobok!). All coaches must be 18 years or older!

All coaches and officials need to register on www.ma-regonline.com and must upload a photograph. An amount of € 5 (Euro) will have to be paid when a photograph of another person was uploaded.

Entry Fee

€ 45 (Euro) for each contestant
The Entry Fee must be paid and specified to the Bank Account of the Vlaamse Taekwondo Bond vzw
Entry fees must be paid before the deadline of 28th of March.
There will be no refund if a registered competitor fails to show up
for the competition!

Spectators

Up to 7 years old: admission is free
8 years and older: 1 day-ticket € 5 (Euro)

6. ACCOMMODATION

Hotels in Gent are quickly fully booked in this period of the year!! Gent is a major sought-after tourist destination and offers a lot of cultural, business and sport possibilities.
The organization is holding an allocation of rooms in Gent from 8 to 11 of April 2011. Teams and National teams are encouraged to book their required number of rooms early through the organization of the Flemish Taekwondo Union vzw to guarantee reasonable prices and hotel rooms.

Please note that there is no weigh-in in the morning of the competition day, only in the evening prior to the competition. This means the weigh-in for the competitions on Saturday is on Friday evening, the weigh-in for the competitions on Sunday is on Saturday evening.

Room reservations must reach the organizing before 4thof March 2011.
After this deadline no refund will be possible in case of cancellation.
Room reservation will only be confirmed after receipt of payment!

7. OTHERS

First Aid

Will be provided by the organization and is only to be used in case of an emergency!

Insurance

The organization and supervisor assume no responsibility for teams, any damages, violence, losses and injuries during the stay in Belgium. All contestants must bring their own documents and forms for any medical treatment in Belgium. If not, this must be paid in cash.

Press

Filming and photographing is not allowed on the competition area, unless for press members.
Recording from the public stands is only allowed for handy cam-type cameras.
If you want to bring a photographer or a journalist, please mention it by email.
